The Last Storyteller by Donna Barba Higuera has indeed been a wonderful read. The narration and storytelling are very nice and the characters are interesting. The story of Petra will stay with the reader in their memories for a long time. The structure of the book and the layout is also good. The characters are based on Mexican folklore and the story with sci-fi blends very well together. The goal of the main character, Petra, is to become a storyteller. When Earth was about to be destroyed by a comet, Petra along with her family left for a new planet. But, it so happens, that when Petra wakes up everyone except her forgets about Earth, and thus Petra has a purpose that is linked to her goal - being a storyteller. She has to overcome the opposition from a Collective that is bent on erasing the past of humanity. This was truly an unforgettable journey. A recommended read.
