The Last Storyteller is definitely aimed at a younger audience and as such wouldn’t usually be the type of book that I would enjoy. However, I was drawn in by the beautiful cover and intrigued by the synopsis so I gave it a go and I’m so so pleased that I did.
After the first couple of chapters I was totally hooked by the story and I ended up devouring the whole book in one sitting!
Parts of the story were emotional and there were some truly heartbreaking elements to the plot. I literally couldn’t put the book down.
This book is a fantastic introduction to science fiction for the younger reader but I believe it is also a truly enjoyable read for adult readers too.
I loved the theme of storytelling and folklore that ran throughout the book and also loved the cultural aspects which I’ve never seen in a sci fi book before.
I truly hope that there is space for a second book so we can find out what happens next!
