I really enjoyed this book. It was clever to have set it far enough into the future that it was believable but still futuristic. It was written quite emotively (and made me tear up on occasion!) and made me want to keep reading to find out what happens in the end. It was fascinating how the author managed to blend Mexican folklore into a futuristic sci-fi book, but it really worked. If I had one complaint, it would be that there's quite a lot of Spanish words and sentences in it - the author seemed to do a good job of explaining the general gist of the translation in the subsequent paragraph, but as a non-Spanish speaker, I did sometimes wonder if I was missing out something important. Overall, an enjoyable book which makes you think - is erasing the mistakes of past generations really the way to go to prevent conflict and live in harmony in the future?
