The Last Storyteller follows a girl called Petra who loves stories. When the Earth is about to be destroyed, Petra and her family and a few more humans escape on a ship. They are put in stasis for hundreds of years and plan to start a new life on a different planet. But when Petra wakes up, humanity has changed and she is the only one who can remember Earth.
This story was a great blend of sci-fi, folklore and adventure and really made me want to keep turning the page. It is very fast paced and intriguing with some really loveable characters. I particularly enjoyed the unique antagonists of the story and the moral dilemmas that Petra had to deal with.
I would definitely recommend this book particularly for slightly younger readers although I really enjoyed it too. A very unique tale that really emphasises the importance of stories in our world.
