The Last Storyteller is a Sci-Book probably best suited to older children/ young adults, however as an adult I did still enjoy it.
In the year 2061, the Earth is destroyed by a comet and a select few people are chosen to travel to a new planet. Petra is chosen as her family are scientists.
We then skip roughly 400 years into the future, where Petra wakes to find that her loved ones are dead and the last of the human race are now under control of 'The Collective' as they draw close to the new planet of Sagen. Everyone's memories of Earth have been wiped except for Petra. Now Petra must keep the history of the human race alive through stories, each one teaching an important lesson or passing on a secret message.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a quick read and different to anything I have read before. I loved the incorporation of Spanish in the book, perhaps it could help me to learn a new language as I got to use a translator to help read those few sentences!
