I liked the cover of this book and the opening chapter, and was looking forward to reading the entire story.

However, the opening chapters were really the most interesting to me, and somehow the momentum soon faded away. I appreciate the book is quite whimsical and explores what might happen to the human race, should we be forced to look elsewhere to live. This book would definitely appeal to a reader who enjoys the story-telling element, and some repetition in the style and direction of the story. I'm not sure what age group this appeals to if any specifically, but it's definitely not for a reader who wants any action or drama.

I found the characters beyond the main narrator rather flat and one-dimensional, I suspect this is deliberate, but for me it didn't illuminate the setting enough to make me interested in what would happen next.
