The cover is beautiful and slightly eerie whilst being true to the 'caroline bond' look of her previous books, all of which I've enjoyed. The plot, as laid out very early on, is classic in its simplicity but I'm confident there will be surprises and complexities to come. I like the intimate feeling of the first person narrative. Combined with switching viewpoint to another character after a few chapters, I'm hopeful I'll get to experience the perspective and feelings of all the main players. This is an intriguing start and so I really have to find out what happens next.
