I had mixed feelings about The Legacy. and after seeing the mixed reviews I was a little nervous to read it. Sadly, I was left a bit disappointed overall but this is in no way a "bad" book - Bond is clearly a very gifted writer. This story explores the relationships between siblings, Liv, Chloe and Noah following the death of their father Jonathan. Jonathan has very carefully planned out every aspect of his death, wanting to leave his children something to remember him by - a lesson, a legacy. To add to this, Jonathan's partner Megan and his ex-wife (and mother of the children) Eloise are thrown into the mix and the story delves into how unconventional families are brought together by terrible circumstances, the death of a loved one. It was poignant and moving but in some places missed the mark with me. I also found Jonathan quite an unlikeable character if I am being honest. I don't really know if I would pick up this book again but I think others might enjoy it.
