The legacy focuses around a family who have just lost their father to motor neurone disease. The story revolves around his three children, his ex-wife and his partner, who have to deal with the fallout of a complicated final request regarding his inheritance, essentially he has left it up to his three children to decide who gets what.

His three children are all very different characters and don't really get on. I can only imagine that the author has siblings themselves to portray so accurately the squabbles and fractious conversations that never really go away! The eldest, Liv, is super organised and successful. The middle child, Noah, is wayward and unorganised and the youngest, Chloe, is 25 and still lives at home with very little career to speak of.

His partner, Megan, has seemingly been left out of the will, and is forced to observe her late partner's children squabbling over his legacy with no guarantee that she herself will be given anything. However there are more elements at play than meet the eye and the story twists and turns with each family meeting. I really enjoyed the pace of this book, and constantly trying to work out what their father really wanted to achieve by leaving his legacy to his children to distribute.
