Having previously read all novels published by Caroline Bond, I knew I wanted to read her latest too. And I am happy to say that she didn't disappoint this time either. Not that I expected her to!

As ever, her narrative style was so engaging that I quickly got completely absorbed by the events unfolding on the page. There are a few main characters to familiarise with but they are each described in such a way that they quickly become recognisable as individuals, with their own stories and aspirations. They are not always likeable (or, rather, they don't always behave in a likeable way) but that's what makes them feel real.

A final note should also be made about the cover artwork, which I think is stunning and, visually, goes hand in hand with the imagery that the publisher is trying to associate with the author.

I can't wait to see what comes next!
