The Legacy is the first book I have read by Caroline Bond. The blurb sounded quite interesting. The distribution of a will and the inevitable familial conflict this causes is a well trodden path (where there’s a will, there’s a long line of relatives) and definitely has the structure for a good story. I didn’t initially see why the instruction was so complex - surely a simple division between children and partner was the fair way - but as the story unfolded I understood more of the complexity. I wasn’t a huge fan of any of the children or really any of the characters within but I did enjoy finding out more about each of them and what was going on in their lives under the surface. Overall, The Legacy is a decent read and would be good for a holiday book. It will hold your interest but probably not win any awards. I would be interested to read more by Caroline Bond
