I was keen to read this novel having really enjoyed The Forgotten Sister but I found it rather disappointing. The book cover raises several questions about Jonathan's will. Why has he left everything to his children if they can decide between them how to share the inheritance? Why doesn't he mention his ex wife or his partner, Megan, who has cared for him in his final months. What lesson is he trying to teach his children? I didn't find any answers to these questions. Liz, Noah and Chloe never agree on anything apart from their dislike of Megan who they blame for breaking up their parents' marriage. They meet at their father's home to try and agree on how to divide up his estate. They are all very different but all are dissatisfied with their lives. Liv feels the pressure of work and family, Noah's marriage is in trouble and Chloe feels she has failed at everything she has tried to do.
