This book rang true to me as I am from a big family too and we all get pigeonhole into positions within the family and going back to the family home takes you back to being a child and suddenly you find yourself all fighting for your parents time and approval.
The dad in the story dies and lives a complicated will forcing the children to come together and decide how the will is to be divided, and just to force them to follow through if they can’t all decide the money is to go to charity and he can’t be buried until it’s sorted. Which adds more pressure to an already stressful time add in a mistress, ex wife, alcohol and lots of secrets and you have a receipt for a storm.
I loved this book and found it really easy to read and it had lots of twists and turns that I wasn’t expecting. I even cried at the last chapter that’s how involved I was in the story and characters.
