I was really pleased to be able to read an advance copy of this because I really enjoyed One Split Second, also by the author.

I absolutely loved this book, the author has a wonderful way of writing about a situation that could be sad but, the sadness isn't dwelled upon, emotions are explored in a very profound way.

I very much enjoy books with family drama, complex relationships and sibling rivalry. When a very specific condition was placed in their Jonathan's will, his children; Noah, Liv and Chloe need to all get together and reach an agreement to follow his unusual request.
They all bring a different dynamic, throw in their father's partner, Megan and their mother Eloise and this adds to the difficult decisions to be made, the uncomfortable conversations and awkward encounters.

The setting in Scarborough is vividly described, and the siblings reminisce about their times at their childhood family home by the sea, The View. It made me want to go for a walk along the beach!

There were some clever little hints dropped in as to things going on with the family and I relished seeing how things came together at the end and how some of my suspicions were found to be true.

This very carefully explores the emotions of each family member. None were very likeable to me but, had moments of of showing a different side to them and I enjoyed these little glimpses of a softer side, adding a different perspective.
Although Jonathan is not alive for long in the story, even after his death we learn a lot about him and how he had wanted to protect those that mattered to him and I loved how he did this. This was very thought-provoking.

This is a book I couldn't put down, I was completely gripped and wanted to see what would happen next and if my predictions for the ending would be true, I wanted to write down my thoughts and see if I was right!

I very much recommend this to readers who like a family drama.

This was such a treat to read over the bank holiday weekend - if you read it too I'd love to know what you think.
