From the get go, I was instantly drawn to the character of Megan; the juxtaposition between the two points of view of her character (on one hand, a loving carer for her husband, or a homewrecker for the rest of the family) is cleverly written in order to make your own opinions on her. She seemingly subverts the usual expectations of a step-mother from her personality, but then again the children do not seem to get on with her.

Along with the addition of the three children of the late husband, in my experience you really can't predict what is going to happen in the rest of the book: will the children agree on the will? Will Megan be included? Will they become closer and make up? There is so much information given, with so little resolve that it draws you in to make your own conclusions, your own opinions on the plot, characters and every aspect of the book.

I cannot wait to read the rest, beautifully written and something that really makes you want to read more!
