This book was fascinating in places, but a little slow on others. The entire premise is revealed in the blurb, so the book is entirely character driven rather than plot.
I tended to find myself reading chapters at a time (short, quick reads which jumped between characters so maintained interest), but then not being desperate to pick it back up once I put it down.
The story is predictable, and ended exactly as I expected it to, there are no shocking twists or revelations here. But that said I did enjoy the read, the characters are interesting, if a little stereotypical and all stick to their designated trope.
Overall an easy read which I probably wouldn’t have picked up if I hadn’t received a free copy to review, but that said I’m glad I did.
It wouldn’t be the first book I recommend to others, but I might have a go at other books by the same author if I did stumble across them.
