I've heard a lot of good things about this book and so I've been wanting to read it for a while. After reading the first few chapters, I don't see this as a book I'll ever finish however I get how it may appeal to some audiences.
If you're interested in a book about love, family and losses then you'll most likely enjoy reading this. It's also about inheritance which can be a tricky topic to write about but Caroline Bond executes it extremely well. I really like the style of writing in this book despite it not being my kind of story. It'll be interesting to people who enjoy powerful novels and powerful characters. I won't give any spoilers away but I will say that if you're sensitive to books where the topic surrounds death this may not be the book for you. I like Caroline Bond's style of writing so I'll probably end up reading some of her other novels.
