Not something I'd usually pick up, but nevertheless, quite an intriguing read

The very first thing about the sample that I enjoyed was the dedication page. Although that's not something people usually talk about in book reviews, it had to be mentioned because it made me smile.
I liked the style of writing the author uses because It's easy to follow along with and the way they touch on topics like grief and death is quite realistic and I'm sure that people, like me, who have gone through similar situations will be able to relate in one way or another.
The story is told through multiple perspectives, which, for me, usually pulls me out of the story when I read, but I think it was a good choice due to the storyline, a way for the readers to truly understand how each character feels. I can also predict that this book will be less plot-based and more about the journey each character goes through with their grief and relationships with others, which is something I would usually get bored of quickly because I like stories that are fast paced.
Family Drama isn't a genre I usually reach for but I think this cover is quite nice to look at. If it weren't for the lifeless font, I would have said It's perfect.
Another thing that I didn't enjoy was the lack of variety -however, I could be wrong if POC characters are later introduced in the book, but I have a gut feeling that it won't be the case.
