Mr Jonathon coulter has concise instructions for his revised will, that is derived from his rapid demise in health. His unconventional approach to his will, highlights the emotional turmoil and impact that death of a loved one can bring out on the bereaved. This is all further made tensely traumatic but the complications of the relationship between the step children and megan, their step mother, whom they resent. Megan is not mentioned in the will, and her isolation and mourning, humble her as a character and you instantly feel her pain in the loss of her beloved, her home and the pettiness that she has to endure from her step children and all the family dynamics. It’s a great character study, with each of the three children being so different in their attitudes and lifestyles and their natural tendencies to diasagree with one another. Your hope is that they can put aside their differences, come to an amicable agreement and be United in the grief, instead of being further divided by their fathers passing. Constantly has the reader speculating on the greed, conniving and other selfish attributes that such a situation could entail
