Blimey, that was a good first extract. I can honestly say I read the whole thing and was hooked in by the first few pages. I read to the end of th first look at a book and I was still scrolling wanting to know exactly what happens next once i'd reached the end.
If she continues this as she started it promises to be a great read. It had all the markers of a good thriller book, and as someone who reads a lot of them to have completely engaged me in so few pages is no small feat!
The cover is fairly typical of the genre,imo, but that's good because I saw the front and immediately knew what type of book it was and that is what made me click through to read the extract provided. The colors and shading are just the right level of dark and the blur caused by the ripples is a really nice touch. It's also nice how the cover art choice is linked into the first-look that we were provided as a kind of optical foreshadowing.
