I'm a really big fan of Catherine Ryan Howard, after reading Distress a Signals, that I very highly recommend if you haven't read it. The front cover of The Liar's Girl paperback is amazing with rippling water in circles that corresponds with the story. Every now and then we hear of tragic stories in the papers or on the news how a body has been found in a river or the sea. This story really made my heart sink. When a young college student is found dead in the Grand Canal. Just like in real life some deaths that occur in water it appears that some of them are treated as suspicious. The Gardai are treating the young girls death as suspicious that's been found in the Grand Canal . Will Hurley had confessed to five murders, but while Will is ten years into his life sentence this is when the body of a young woman is found dead in the Grand Canal. It can't be Will Hurley this time as he is serving life, but Will claims he knows who has killed all the recent girls. There's something else Will Hurley mentions, but is Will Hurley telling the truth on all accounts? I found the character Will Hureley the most fascinating character that I have read about in a long time. Clear your calendar as every now and then a really good thriller comes along and The Liar's Girl is it.
