This was an entertaining enough, but just didn't do a lot for me by the time we got to the end, the best friend was a horrendous character that i felt no sympathy for when it turned she was also one of the victims, or was she? Was a good ending i have to admit, raising this from a 3 to a 4 star for me.

The main character Alison has been living in Europe since the events occurred, and never talked to her then boyfriend who had been charged with the killings, after he admitted to doing them. He confessed his innocence and a new spate of serial killings seem to indicate the real killer was never actually caught. He thinks he has information on who the killer may be, but he will only tell Alison. So the Irish police persuade her to come home so she can talk to him and get the information they need. But she ends up getting even more involved than that and starts investigating for herself, in guilt that maybe she was wrong and it was her fault he was arrested all those years ago.

This book jumps back and forward between the events of the present and the events leading up to the initial string of serial killings 10 years ago, with a few chapters featuring the killer themselves, without revealing who they are. Although it never really explained why there was a 10 year gap?
