This book was a slow building psychological thriller that I found kept me on my toes and gripped me in when I was reading it! I struggle to put it down at some points, and easily found myself invested in this book.

The main protagonist, Allison, is a freshmen at Dublin University where she meets Willy Hurley, her charming and good looking boyfriend. But Will confesses to killing five women and is known as the 'Canal Killer' -- and one of the women he has killed is Allison and Will's friend, Liz. This turns Allison's world upside down, and she desperately escapes her past -- and Will -- as he's imprisoned for life in a Psychiatric hospital.

But then, 10 years later, another woman's body is found in the Canal River -- but Will is still in the psychiatric hospital... This book held a great theme of the past coming back to haunt us, and without giving anything away, I will say that it is definitely a book I would recommend to anyone who enjoys this genre!
