This book had a slow start for me but once I was a few chapters in, I really became engrossed. You start off knowing who the perpetrator is, or do you? All the way through you are not really sure whether he did the original crimes or not and even at the end there is an interesting and unexpected twist to the story.
I enjoyed the descriptions of Dublin and the life of a student in the city and I enjoyed the relationship between the characters, especially the ambiguous relationship between Alison and Liz. The way the novel alternated between the past and the present with the chapters on Alison then and Alison now, made reading it more exciting.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would recommend it to fans of psychological thrillers.
