Most addictive book i've read recently. So much love and heartbreak all in one book. Poor little Kitty gets left outside a childrens home with a note and some money. Each year at around the same time more money gets dropped off. Summer fears that the person responsible for this money will some day return for Kitty. Her fears become reality when her mothers maid shows up on their door. This book is so well written that i felt the devastation that Summer did. How her heart aches when she leaves, the pain she feels when her and Tom are distant. To top it all off her husband Tom and one of the boys they have raised both go off to war. I was on the edge of my seat hoping that her and Tom would resolve their issues before he goes. These characters laugh, you laugh. They cry, you cry.
