Charming and beautifully illustrated

As a keen gardener myself I know only too well the pleasure that can come from gardening and from being close to nature and I think this is the ideal book to encourage youngsters to get involved too. I liked the way the book was divided into different sections and how the information is put across in an imaginative and accessible way. I think having different very practical and hands-on projects, such as building a compost heap or creating a pond, is a brilliant idea. Read about it and then go and do it! The illustrations are absolutely wonderful, full of bright colours and with touches of humour. I believe this book would make a wonderful present for a young child. Forming a connection with our environment I think is crucial for our future and I'd like to think this book would help to nurture a future generation of gardeners and nature lovers.
