If you enjoyed Gail Honeyman's 'Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine', You will devour Lesley Allen's 'The Lonely life of Biddy Weir'.

Put forth from page one, its is clear Biddy Weir struggles with self identity and self esteem. After abandonment issues stemming from her mothers departure at 6 months and her dad and grandma who simply were not quite right Biddy's social skills are not in line with her peers. However it is the bullying from her peers which creates the largest issues so Biddy attempts to put her story out there.

A prevalent but most importantly relevant issue among society is in fact bullying. Lesley Allen places these issues into a favourable and relatable character and successfully characterises her to mirror the stories' audience. The name calling is one thing, as an audience we are also witness to the self depreciative mindset brought on by the torment. Something most of us are not stranger to.

With the writing style being simple and satisfying to come across much like Biddy Weir's character, it is safe to say this book is wonderful and comforting and should be enjoyed by a variety of ages and audiences!
