A thoughtful and thought provoking book about the effects of bullying.
Biddy Weir, nicknamed Bloody Weirdo, is an only child who lives with her aged father. Her mother left her father when BW was a baby. Her father lives a solitary life and has no experience of children. Everything about BW is awkward and make her a target for pranks and bullying by Alison Flemming and her sycophantic friends.
Biddy's only escape is her interest in birds and her talent in painting.
Things get even worse for Biddy when she goes on a school field trip and her life is changed forever.
The end of the story is uplifting however the story is incredibly sad and leaves the reader wondering if they have known any BWs in their life that they could have helped.
