I really enjoyed The Lonely Life of Biddy Weir.
I didn't realise by reading the blurb just how upsetting this book will be to read. I wasn't even sure what genre this book would fall into.
Hard hitting issues were described in detail which was so heartbreaking to read. The impact these actions had on Biddy Weir and the direction her life took was very sad.
Despite the first part of this book being quite sad, the second half was an absolute delight. This story is more then a 'coming of age' story.
The Author has delicately handled sensitive issues and has written a great story which should serve as a lesson to us all (no matter how old we are) about how we treat each other.
The Author is so thorough in her description of emotions and the characters thought processes, which made this book so easy to read despite the first half being quite sad.
