I liked it more than I expected to!

This is such a great debut novel. It covers abuse, bullying and survival. It shows one woman’s fight with herself to accept who she is and how she is a little bit weird. I admit this book I had to put down a few times because what happens to Biddy is awful. It is hard to read. We first meet Biddy when she is 30 when she makes a call to a chat show about bullying. I will admit it took me awhile to get into it but once I did I had to finish it. Biddy didn’t realise she was different until Alison came to her school. Alison bully’s Biddy ruthlessly with devastating results. This is a powerful and heartbreaking novel which I didn’t expect to affect me as much as it did. This books message is that words and actions can really hurt.
