Just to clarify this is only a first impression as there was no option to submit one but I had to let you all know how wonderful the first few chapters were. I was just mindlessly browsing authors and was strangely drawn to Lesley, then the cover of her novel. I am currently battling my own 'demons' and felt it somewhat eerie that I would find this book in that way... I was instantly hooked from the first page. The story is curious, sad and funny all at once, and that's just the first two chapters. I have an empathetic love for Biddy and the feelings she is experiencing as the result of being bullied. From the very start of the book it is clear that it is not going to be an easy read, but I'm hoping to find it somewhat therapeutic to face my own past.
