This book features a range of emotion whirlwinds. Biddy Weirs isolation, a victim of bullying had lead to her emotionally distraught phase where she’s rebuilds herself through redemption. I love the insight on mental health as that’s something a lot of kids have faced, but it also brings the journey of life and growing up with these scars. It certainty shows that scars have an impact and this book was something I could connect with.
However, I would loved the book to overcome some of the stereotypes such as her being awkward and dressing weirdly. This is something i have notice in several books when describing a character with mental illness. It would be nice if her “weird.” Character was defined by something else that the obvious choice. Other than that the story line and physical and mental torture buddy goes through displays a mental issues that needs to heard.
