I cannot even begin to describe the emotional rollercoaster that is Lesley Allen's debut novel. Unputdownable. All I wanted to do, was reach out and hug Biddy and never let go. The way Lesley Allen expertly gets into the mindset of a child\adolescent and captures the heartbreaking impact of bullying, left me holding back the tears throughout. The writing effortlessly flows and I found myself laughing at the most unexpected moments. It is a tough read at times, and can infuriate you when reading about Alison's escapades. But worth every minute of it. This is a must read for anyone who has or works with children today or if in fact you just want to be an all round better human being. It will force you to look beyond the surface. It is your duty to. Obsessed with my new pillow also. I think Biddy Weir would be obsessed with it too.
