There's a lot to entice the reader in the opening chapters. What is the reality of the relationship between Joyce and her husband, Frank? If watering a pot of geraniums is Joyce's "first revolution of the day", what might be her second? Is Ruby, the help, merely in the wrong place at the wrong time? What lies beneath the surface of the seemingly picture perfect Sunnylakes community? The extract really drew me in and I'd be eager to know what happens next.
