The cover imagery paints a very clear picture in your mind of the era in which this novel is set. The role of women of this time is, of course, well understood by the reader before they start to immerse themselves in Chapter 1. Whilst the cover imagery feels somewhat predictable and sterotypical it helps to capture the nostalgic feel of the time the era when this story is set. But don't let this put you off giving this one a try. Right from the outset the gripping plot firmly grabs the reader's attention with a depth of intruigue that sucks you right in.
My first impressions are that the reader is definitely in for an unpredictable, thought provoking ride full of unexpected twist and turns. The content is definitely going to be considerably less predictable than the cover imagery would lead you to believe.
Looks like the perfect lockdown read and I cannot wait to get started...
