This book immediately drew me in, the description of the characters is very specific to the era. I have read other books in this style and enjoyed them, this story has additional dimensions making it darker.
The style of writing is quite clipped yet succinctly gives you a depth of character, I enjoy this as I don't think it's easy to do.
