The Long Long Afternoon is a crime / mystery book by Inga Vesper.
Both the cover and blurb make it the kind of book I would pick up and buy.
This is the kind of mystery that draws you in from the very first line! “ Yesterday, I kissed my husband for the last time . . .”
The plot is building up well in the first few chapters and the characters are being well introduced and described. Everyone so far fits into the storyline well, from the neighbours to the police involved.
From just the first few chapters I already want to know what has happened in that kitchen and who’s involved in it.
The writing style is descriptive without being too lengthy, the chapters are a great length (although I’m sure it’s one of those books you keep needing to read “just one more” chapter of) and it is a really easy story to get in to and follow.
I’m really looking forward to it being released so I can read the full book.
