This book gives an insight into life for different types of people in 1950s America and also shows how times were changing and views were developing which makes for an interesting read. Adding in the mystery and suspense that forms the plot it was a gripping read.
I found it hard to put down right from the first chapter & as the characters developed and the story unfolded this only became more true. I found myself being able to relate to parts of all of the characters and also really enjoyed that I couldn’t predict what was going to happen next.
Every detail was well thought through from what food would be available in this era to how the characters would speak to each other using current phrases and accents.
I would recommend this book to anyone that wants to lose themselves in a story but be prepared as once you have read the first few pages you will be hooked!
