This writing is beautiful. The imagery is wonderful. It's set in Scotland which after reading The Outrun is fast becoming top of all my lists of places to explore.
On top of that, there's the added bonus of historical fiction. I hated history at school, but add a human interest story to the narrative and you've got me, hook, line and sinker.
This first look ticked a lot of boxes for me. Short chapters where the "voice" switched. Only thing is the chronology is a bit backward and forward but I think I could work with that.
