This book surprised me, not only was it a beautiful love story but the description, Gifford offered was also beautiful. A reader can really capture how the village is, which only emphasises on how lyrical her description was.
Moreover, the main 3 characters were likeable and realistic, there wasn't a moment where it felt the characters were from a mere fiction book. The love triangle, Gifford portrayed was also original, the conflicts between both men were understandable. One could not really predict who Chrissie would end up with (apart from the near end). The historical knowledge I have gained about this village, St. Kilda is truly amazing.
