I found this a very quaint sweet story to read. It was lovely and in part poetic to read. I enjoyed the characters points of view and flitting between time periods, it was a very nice read.
But for me it was simply nice. It didn't grip me, it didn't tug at heart strings it didn't really do much for me other than being nice.
I am sure for others it will have been a five star read as it is only my opinion. I simply just didn't find it enthralling.
It was very like a fairytale to read with a love on a small island, living were money wasn't really a means to live but buying and trading was the way. A good wholesome community working together to help each other. It makes me wonder where in the world we went wrong now living in such a selfish world. It was a feel-good book and I quite enjoyed the somewhat happy ending.
