I loved this book very much. I soon as I started reading it I was captivated by the descriptions of the isle of St. Kilda, the people the houses and the life style.
This was a dual time line which I love but it was only a short time between the two. I feel that this book will stay with for a very long time and I was sorry when I got to the last page.
I hadn’t read any of Miss Gifford’s books before but will be looking for her others in the future.
My overall feeling after reading this wonderful book was a calmness and a very satisfied end to the story, it ended just at the right time with a happy ending.
