This book was out of my usual genre to read, but after reading the first impression I was excited to read it. The cover of The Lost Lights of St Kilda was attention grabbing and built on my excitement to start reading. I was not disappointed.

Elisabeth Gifford's has an interesting style of writing which is easy to read and full of beautiful descriptions.

The detail used in her writing make it easy to picture the landscapes and being from Scotland, I appreciate the beautiful words used to describe the places contained within St. Kilda.

The story is set between two different times and describes the relationship between two people. The story and the different time frames are easy to follow as the date is written at the start of each chapter. The flitting between the character stories, is also easy to follow. This is a lovely read, and I thoroughly recommend.
