This novel was a nice steady read. It was,nt an edge of the seat read but was really interesting and nice. It was interesting to read about island life and the hardship,s they faced but the strength of spirit they had and the way they all followed their faith was really interesting to read about. It was interesting to read about the different people and the different years and it was,nt confusing which can sometimes happen in this types of novel,s. You do feel for the main character and wish things could of gone different for her. The description of the island is excellent and really makes you want to go and see it for yourself. The description of the journey through the Pyrenees was really well written.
