I can imagine St Kilda so vividly the sights and smells in all it's beauty. I can hear the gulls and listen to the waves whilst smelling the gentle sea breeze. I feel I have met the people and listened to their stories and live amongst them.
From the start I was obsessed with this book and didn't want to stop reading. The narrative is told from different characters and in different years and this flowed timelessly making it easy to follow. I have read some of Fred's story now but need to know more.
I can envisage this as a truly beautiful book. The characters feel real and I am with them throughout. I would like to know how their relationships intertwine and the development and alteration in each character throughout the years.
