The island of St Kilda a truly beautiful but remote place to live.
As with anywhere so isolated there comes the hardships for the residents to keep their unique way of living.
The author has managed to capture a detailed description of how she thinks life was carried on though out the many years it was occupied.
I found it so very informative and interesting and had no idea just how it must have been for the residents to simply exist and how all the heartbreak and the many challenges must have effected the emotions of their everyday life.
I was two thirds through the book when I found I could no longer put it down for my nights sleep and just had to finish it to find out the ending.
Yes, it is sad, a love story too, but one that weaves in with the island.
Thank you to the author for giving me such an engrossing story to read..it is truly "a jewel in a crown"
