Intriguing opening makes you want to read on

I'm not a frequent reader of romance so wouldn't normally consider a book like this but that opening chapter really intrigued (and touched) me, especially the line 'I will never stop looking for you'. Why has Eddie not called or responded to calls? So many possibilities, which is what makes me think this could be an addictive read.
