Secrets and Lies
I have a bug bear in TV series especially where for the plot to work characters have to lie to each other for an episode or two without any real reason to do so. Once you notice it as a narrative device you can't help but see it everywhere.
This book however seems to be based on a premise with more structure than that - yes there will be lies but they are earned and justified by the plot.
