Slow burn reveal of a secret and a lot of analysis!

On first glance this sounded like chick-lit but the presence of a secret and a reason why Eddie has stayed away hints at a decent bit of intrigue and injects the potential for tension. However, on reading the FI the story looks to be a slow burn of a revelation and I suspect I would get bored with the overanalysing!
