A book about a woman who meets a man, then behaves desperately when he doesn’t call her back. It’s well written, but I didn’t really connect with the characters and I found the plot lacking impetus.

It was good that Sarah was depicted as a strong character, a leader in the work place. But I didn’t enjoy the contrast between her weak needy side, being super upset when some guy she just met didn’t call her back. I understand that the writer is trying to indicate how striking her love is for him. But as a 40 year old I would have thought she would have been less naive, for me the story would have ended with “this guy never called me back, his loss”.

The book shelves are filled with books about women showing their vulnerability in this sense, if the man was depicted as the weak one then that would challenge stereotype better, and would appeal to me more.

However, I would give this book a try as it has been well written and I like to be proved wrong or right.
